Fashion Fantasy

Emphasize your femininity this spring with the romance trend; be inspired by fairytales, floral’s and soft pastel colours to incorporate the romance trend into your everyday wardrobe. However do take note that I’m not implying you should head out dressed up as Cinderella en-route to the ball, as that would look ridiculous and isn’t the best outfit when you’re running for a bus. That said you can indulge in this trend for evening wear and special occasions and can use elements of the trend for an everyday look.
For an evening look try a floaty maxi dress with layers of material to give your outfit that ethereal feel, and layer up with pearls and charm bracelets for a more glamorous edge. For a daytime look take a romantic piece of clothing and mix it in with your normal look, try teaming a floaty blouse with some denim shorts and some tan sandals, or take a maxi skirt and wear with a simple tee and some wedges.

Go Bananas!!

This summer sees the rise in popularity of a rather cute trend which is guaranteed to have you turning heads wherever you go, ladies forget florals because 2011 is all about the power of  the fruit! And no I don’t mean the importance of having your five a day, I’m referring to the stand out print of the season as seen on the catwalks of Moschino, Prada and Stella McCartney. Designers answered nature’s call and took on the trend with a playful yet stylish twist.

When wearing the fruit print, you can take the look one of two ways and either play-up the bold design with other dramatic items. Do this with bright colours such as pink or orange, or contrast your prints for example team a fruit print item with a striped or polka dot one, however this can look OTT so keep the rest of your outfit fairy minimal.

For the less daring or for a casual look you can tone down the vibrant print with neutral colours and simple accessorising. The look is quite bold so if you’re nervous about donning it head to toe don't fret; you can incorporate accents of the trend into your everyday look with printed vests, tees and the huge range of jewellery available with fruit pendants on them.  I’ve selected a range of the best pieces around at the moment and given a few tips on how to wear them, i hope you find your fruity side!
